Practice Supervisors x 2 (Dorset) - Substance Misuse

They have two exciting new opportunities in senior staff positions for the following areas:

Practice Supervisors x 2
Reference: 14.13
Salary: 23,500- 24,450 per annum pro rata
Contract: Both Fixed term contract for up to 12 months
Locations / Hours:
Vacancy 1 Based: East Dorset (covering Christchurch, Ferndown, Swanage & Wareham, the primary base being Christchurch)
Hours: 21 hours per week/3 days
Vacancy 2 Based: Bridport & Dorchester, the primary base being Bridport
Hours: 14 hours per week/2 days

The Practice Supervisor role is in place to oversee the development of Significant Other Interventions (such as Relative Support) across the County and the allocation of Case Loads. The roles will also pro-actively lead on Locality Working and the Forums which ensure better treatment outcomes, including encouraging Partnership Case Management, Developing Cross Agency Training & Networking Opportunities, leading Recovery Oriented Jointly Delivered Group Work and the understanding of Community Reinforcement Approaches to treatment. It involves improving BBV Vaccination & Treatment Uptake amongst PDU population and their Significant Others, and assessing Current Opening times and Outreach locations -alongside the Team Leader, in order to reconfigure services to accommodate harder to reach and treatment naive individuals.

The role of a Practice Supervisor is to help reduce the harm caused by substance misuse to users themselves, affected others and to the wider community. The Practice Supervisor will ensure that this is achieved though supervising the services provided to clients through their team base/bases whilst carrying an equitable case load which they will use to model best practice and excellence. The practice supervisor will support the Team Leader in ensuring that services are provided in line with Models of Care, the drug misuse and dependence guidelines, MoCAM and other governing policies and procedures. The Practice Supervisor will also provide other workers with a consultancy service in their area of specialism and deputise when appropriate for the Team Leader in his/ her absence.

The successful candidates will also work alongside their colleagues in supporting the supervision of Volunteers, Student Placements and the Development and Expansion of our Peer Mentor Programme in Dorset. Practice Supervisors ensure supervision of Direct Access staff who key-work mentors, developing robust monitoring tools which enable closer scrutiny of through-put (such as mapping journey from service user to employment), identifying future funding outside of the current budget, delivering and improving accredited training programmes and so on.
